Just completed: Logo design for Survivors Advocating For Equity (S.A.F.E.) and Beaters Behind Bars
I am incredibly honoredto have been able to be a small part of this currently in-devlopment non-profit organization.
The founder of this organization is a survivor of a nearly-fatal domestic assault. In response to her experiences and in seeing how the justice system handled the case of the repeat offender, she decided to form S.A.F.E. to educate and help others in similar situations.
I was asked to create two logos; one for the S.A.F.E. organization and another for a potential apparel item for “Beaters Behind Bars”. Both use stark, minimalist designs to quickly get their point across to the viewer. The S.A.F.E. logo quickly established the image of the scales of justice and the wings that can carry survivors of domestic violence above their plight. The Beaters Behind Bars logo uses the image of clenched fists, but takes from them their power and malevolence when you see they are, in fact, clenching bars.
